Norma L. De La Cerda

Norma Linda De La Cerda, 61 of Houston, Texas passed away on April 14, 2015 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Johnny and Isabel Gomez on February 09, 1954.

The memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on April 18, 2015 at Blackwell & Vazquez Woodforest Funeral Home.

Norma met her only love Roland De La Cerda at a young age and married him at the age of 15. Norma and Roland were married for 45 years and had two children Roland Anthony De La Cerda and Tracey Ann Arriasola. Mom and Dad were inseparable. A love like theirs is hard to find but they had an amazing story together. It goes to show that true love does exist.

Norma was the strongest person that I knew and I was honored to call her my mom. She was the most caring, loving, compassionate person that would put others first before herself. She enjoyed her life by spending each chance she could with her grandchildren by attending school functions, birthday parties and all holidays. Norma was big on holidays. We always knew that no matter what we would all be together under one roof making great memories. Even when mom was getting weak and having bad days, she would still continue on with our traditions and have her family together.

Norma is survived by her beloved husband Roland De La Cerda, son Roland Anthony De La Cerda, daughter Tracey Arriasola, daughter in-law Margaret De La Cerda, granddaughters Victoria, Modesty, and Elyssa, grandson Nickolas, brothers Louis and Joe Gomez and sister Janet Gomez.
This is not goodbye. We will all meet again one day and make more great memories.
We love you!!!
