Samuel Daniel Dumoit
Born May 22, 1931 Dan went to his heavenly reward February 19, 2015.
Born in Houston, Texas to Jenny & Louis Dumoit. Dan was raised on the East side of Houston. Living by scrapping and working at a young age. He defied the odds by rising to the position of Project Manager of million dollar design and construction oil projects having started as a piping draftsmen with only an eighth grade education. His career was facilitated by his personal charm and wit, and vast knowledge of the oil industry.
Dan was proceeded in death by both parents, siblings, and son Danny Ray Dumoit. Dan came to know the Lord at the age of 48 at Faith Assembly of God having been challenged by Rev. John McDuff at the gym that he may not see him next week because you never know when Jesus is coming again! After accepting the Lord as his savior Dan utilized his love of power training by coaching numerous national championship power lifting teams for Faith Christian Center. He loved not only the training but mostly the shepherding of young men for God.
Dan’s love for God propelled him to invest in all he came in contact with by asking “do you know my Jesus” to all who crossed his path. Spending numerous hours smoking meat for charitable bar-b-ques, and home mission projects. He loved God’s creation and enjoyed the great outdoors in bay and deep sea fishing, deer, elk, and wild game hunting.
Dan resided in Deer Park Texas with his wife Carolyn, and daughter Bambi. Dan is also survived by son Mark Dumoit, and Cheryl of Angelton, Texas. Numerous grandsons, granddaughters and great grandchildren.
It is with deep regret Dan’s family and friends bid him farewell today but it is overshadowed by their rejoicing in the promise of their heavenly reunion with their husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to mourn as the world mourns with no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
