Carlos Rodriguez- Serna Obituary

Carlos Rodríguez, 64, passed away on April 22, 2026. He now rests in peace in the presence of God, where there is no pain or suffering, and where his soul has found eternal comfort. He was born August 4th, 1961 in Agualeguas, NL, México, a place that always held a special place in his heart. After spending most of his life in Houston, he recently fulfilled his dream of retiring and returning to his beloved hometown of Agualeguas, NL.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Elena Lopez de Rodriguez, and his children: Ana Laura Herrera and husband Ruben Herrera, Carlos Rodriguez Jr., and Daniel Rodriguez and wife Leslie Rodríguez. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Anthony Chapa, Víctor Manuel Chapa, Dalila Anahi Chapa, Ruben Herrera Jr., and Milena Rodríguez, whom he loved immensely. Likewise, his step-grandchildren: Anthony, Ashley, and Audrey Herrera. He is also survived by his siblings: Pedro Rodriguez, Hermila Arambul, Francisca Martínez, Onofre Rodríguez, and César Rodríguez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Hermila Rodríguez, and his brother, Hermilo Rodríguez.

Carlos was known for being humble, kind, and deeply loving. A hardworking man and devoted provider, he built his life around his family. He was an amazing husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend—someone who gave selflessly and loved unconditionally. Carlos found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching sports and was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros and C.F. Monterrey Rayados. He enjoyed barbecuing for his family, listening to music, dancing and singing and, most of all, spending time with his loved ones. Those moments, filled with laughter and togetherness, will forever live in the hearts of his family.

With faith in God, we find comfort in knowing he now enjoys eternal life, and that his light will continue to guide his family. His legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on April 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Vazquez Funeral Home, 750 Uvalde Rd, Houston, TX 77015, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow in Agualeguas, Nuevo León, México, on May 2 and May 3, 2026.
