Colleen Collins

Colleen Collins, aka Mimi, Didda, Mala and Meemer, was born on July 14th, 1964. She passed from this world on June 3rd, 2022 at the age of 57.

Colleen is survived by her sister, Jayme Foster, and brother-in-love, Roger Foster, and her two nephews, Blake and Sean Foster, whom she considered “her” children. She is also survived by her daughters-in-love, Charissa and Andrea Foster, and her grandchildren, Cale, Gavin, Harper, Giuliana and Luke Foster. Additionally, Colleen is survived by dear friends she considered family: Anthony Lemley, Troy Burr, Leslie Mallon and Wendy Weatherford Roush.

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Patricia Rider, and by her grandparents, Bardin and Dot Roberts.

In addition to her friends and family whom she loved dearly, Colleen loved music, rescuing animals, summertime, making treats for her loved ones and doing things her way. She was unapologetically comfortable with who she was. If Colleen loved you, you knew it. She gave the best of hugs, and if you didn’t hug her back properly, she would tell you, “Hug me like you mean it.” And you would do just that.

Colleen had the type of beautiful smile and tremendous laughter that you couldn’t ignore and her loved ones came to treasure. She will be greatly missed but immensely remembered. “The song is ended but the melody lingers on.”

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Blackwell & Vazquez Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 10am until 1pm.
