Edward Cantu

Edward was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 1st, 1962 to Rafael Cantu and Ida Berkenmeier (Barron). He lost his long health battle with his wife of 42 years Leticia at his side the evening of September 20, 2022. Edward has been a resident in Houston since his early years. Shortly after high school, Edward met the love of his life Leticia and the two were married in 1981. Together they raised three children and were blessed with three beautiful grandchildren. 

Edward is preceded in death by his granddaughter Emma Buentello, his father Rafael Cantu and his sister Diana Cantu. He leaves behind to cherish his everlasting memories to his wife of 42 years Leticia, mother; Ida, daughters Christina Cantu, Diana Buentello and her husband Andres, grandchildren, Mario & Savannah Estrada, brother Edbert and Ernest, sisters, Lilly Mata and Linda Penatzer as well as a host of extended of family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10:30am - 3pm in the Funeral Home Chapel of Blackwell & Vazquez Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will begin at 12:30pm.
