Eva Mojica Garretson Obituary

   Eva is from Ixcatepec, Estado de Guerrero; she later moved to Merced, California, where she had two children Marylou Vargas and Hector Bustos. She later moved to Houston, Texas in 2004 where she lived the remainder of her years. 


   She loved cooking, planting, needlepoint, crafting, and crossword puzzles. She found so much joy in making her family meals, taking care of them and enjoying precious moments with kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her admirable sense of humor and genuine laughter brightened any room.

   Beyond all her amazing talents, she was a devoted family woman who cherished spending quality time with her family and taking care of others. She was respected and loved by many! 

   Eva is remembered by her daughter Marylou Vargas, son-in-law Robin Vargas, son Hector Bustos, daughter-in-law Barbara Bustos, grandkids Claudio Vargas, Anthony Vargas, Joseph Bustos, Alejandro Bustos, and great grandkids Vincent Vargas, Ocean Vargas, and Sol Vargas and by her entire family and close friends. 


A celebration of Eva’s life will be held:
December 8, 2024, at Vasquez Funeral Home from 4:00-9:00pm in Houston, Texas. 
-Following the rosary at 7:00pm-8:00pm. 
-Last visiting hour 8:00pm-9:00pm. 

A visitation will be held on December 9th at, San Andrews Catholic Church located on 827 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, TX from 10:30am ~ 11:30am with a Funeral Mass to follow from 11:30am ~ 12:30pm

Eva will be laid to rest on December 9, 2024, at San Jacinto Cemetery at 1:00pm. 

In memory of her, we ask for flowers and plants for our beautiful mom. 

Our Mamacita chula, referred by her children, will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on in our hearts of all of us forever.

   Eva es originaria de Ixcatepec, Estado de Guerrero; posteriormente se mudó a Merced, California, donde tuvo dos hijos Marylou Vargas y Héctor Bustos. Más tarde se trasladó a Houston, Texas en 2004, donde vivió el resto de sus años. 


   Le encantaba cocinar, la siembra, el punto de aguja, la artesanía y los crucigramas. Ella encontró tanta alegría en hacer las comidas de su familia, cuidando de ellos y disfrutar de momentos preciosos con los niños, nietos y bisnietos. Su admirable sentido del humor y su genuina risa alegraban cualquier habitación.

   Más allá de todos sus increíbles talentos, era una devota mujer de familia que apreciaba pasar tiempo de calidad con su familia y cuidar de los demás. Era respetada y querida por muchos. 

   Eva es recordada por su hija Marylou Vargas, su yerno Robin Vargas, su hijo Hector Bustos, su nuera Barbara Bustos, sus nietos Claudio Vargas, Anthony Vargas, Joseph Bustos, Alejandro Bustos, y sus bisnietos Vincent Vargas, Ocean Vargas, y Sol Vargas y por toda su familia y amigos cercanos. 


Una celebración de la vida de Eva se llevará a cabo:
8 de Diciembre de 2024, en Vasquez Funeral Home de 4:00-9:00pm en Houston, Texas. 
-Luego del rosario de 7:00pm-8:00pm. 
-Última hora de visita 8:00pm-9:00pm. 

Velacion de Eva sera el 9 de Diciembre en San Andrews Catholic Church, 827 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, TX. 10:30am ~ 11:30am. Misa a la hora de 11:30am ~ 12:30pm
 
El entierro será el 9 de diciembre de 2024 en el Cementerio de San Jacinto a la 1:00pm. 

En memoria de ella, pedimos flores y plantas para nuestra hermosa mamá. 

Nuestra Mamacita chula, referida por sus hijos, será profundamente extrañada, pero su legado de amor vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones de todos nosotros.
