Gilbert was born in Calallen, Texas. Growing up, he split his time between Calallen and Houston, TX. He ultimately planted his roots in Waco, TX. During his time there, Gilbert and his wife Mary were together for 36 years and raised their two children.
Gilbert was a man of many traits, from serving in the United States Army, being a security in the prison system, and Color right. He ultimately retired from the Waco Transit System.
He loved and enjoyed cooking, fishing, dancing, watching T.V, drawing, and most of all he loved his family and friends. He enjoyed making everyone laugh.
Let us put aside our sorrows and rejoice in knowing he is now made whole again.
