JOSE OSCAR ORTIZ

Jose Oscar Ortiz, 77, died October 27, 2020, surrounded by his family and friends in Katy, TX.

His funeral service was Thursday at Santa Teresa Cemetery in Houston, TX.

He was born April 29, 1943, in Monterrey, NL to Claudia and Victor Ortiz.

Jose came to Houston, TX after marrying the love of his life, Esther Ortiz in 1976.  They started a new life and had 2 beautiful girls, Elizabeth and Laura Ortiz. Jose loved to give of his time to his church St. Elizabeth, he was very involved in serving his community.  Jose would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need because he was such a kindhearted and loving man, he truly followed the teachings of Jesus.  Jose was an exemplary person and devout Catholic.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to dance any kind of music, but mostly he enjoyed nortenas. Jose leaves a void in our hearts and will truly be missed, but we have faith that we will see each other again.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his sisters, Gloria Gonzales and Irma Villa; daughters, Elizabeth and Laura Ortiz; grandchildren, Mathanee J Perez-Ortiz, D’Andre A Mendoza, Kahlea L Mendoza, Tatiana I Burciaga, Khye A Mendoza, Nathaniel T Burciaga, and Zacarias N Burciaga.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Esther Ortiz.
