Johnny Gutierrez, 62, was born on October 31, 1962 in Houston Texas and passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after losing his battle with cancer. Johnny was a loving father, and beloved Popo. He retired from the University of Houston after 30 years of dedicated service. Johnny had an incredible work ethic and the ability to fix anything. He loved Ramon Ayala and was known for the great body work he did on cars known as the “Johnny special”. He showed an unwavering dedication to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Margaret Guzman and Paul Gutierrez, seven siblings, Paul, Ernest, Rosie, Melinda, Chavela, Janie, Mateo and one grandson, Andrew Gutierrez. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, MaryAlice Gutierrez and their four children, Jessica (Lupe Garcia), Jennifer (Rogelio Mendez), Johnny (Priscilla), and Victoria (Lupe Velazquez Jr.), His five siblings Albert (Martha), Carlos, Severo, Magdalena, and Maura as well as twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
A visitation for Johnny will be held, Saturday, November 30th, from 2pm-9pm at the Vazquez Funeral Home Chapel located at 750 Uvalde Rd. in Houston Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 6pm by Father Leo Gomez.
