MERCEDES MONTERROSA DE RAMIREZ

Mercedes Monterrosa de Ramirez, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021 in Houston, TX. She was born October 8, 1933 in El Salvador, the daughter of Delfina Demitria Monterrosa with whom she has reunited with in Heaven. 

Mama Menche, as she was affectionally called by her family and friends, left her beloved El Salvador in the 1980s making Houston, TX her home. She devoted her life to caring for her large loving family and was happiest when surrounded by them. Mercedes showed her family the importance of honoring those you love. The stories she told and the traditions she has handed down will never be forgotten.  

Mercedes is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years Filiberto Ramirez; her sons: Alfredo Ramirez, Heriberto Monterrosa, Antonio Ramirez, and Ricardo Monterrosa; her daughters: Leticia Romero, Vilma Flores, and Miriam Rodriguez; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents.
