Maria Angelica Espinoza Lopez

María Angélica López de Espinoza, de 72 años, falleció pacíficamente el 25 de abril de 2025 en Houston, Texas.

María nació el 25 de septiembre de 1952 en Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, y se mudó a Monterrey, Nuevo León, a la edad de seis años. El 13 de junio de 1971 se casó con el amor de su vida, Juan Manuel Espinoza. Juntos tuvieron cinco hijos. Aunque uno de ellos, Félix Espinoza López, falleció a los 10 meses de edad, María llevó siempre su recuerdo en el corazón. Se dedicó con amor y entrega a su familia como madre y esposa de tiempo completo, ofreciendo siempre fortaleza, alegría y un amor incondicional.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Virginia Santana Gutiérrez y Ezequiel López Flores; sus hermanos Arturo López Santana, Enedina López de Rico, Víctor López Santana, Virginia López de Uresti y Ezequiel López Santana; su hijo menor, Félix Espinoza López; y su nieto, Víctor Espinoza.

Le sobreviven sus hermanos Raúl López Santana, Adolfo López Santana e Isabel López de Cura. Su recuerdo vivirá en sus hijos: Juan F. Espinoza, Norma A. Espinoza de Cantú, Gustavo A. Espinoza y Víctor M. Espinoza, junto con sus esposos y esposas: Diana, Carlos, Laura y Patricia. También deja a sus diez queridos nietos: Angie, Avigail, Isaac, Jackie, Leilani, Michelle, Juan, Melissa, Eric y Carlos.

En sus últimos años, María encontró alegría y amistad en la comunidad de Emerson Pines. Su familia agradece profundamente a los vecinos que le ofrecieron cariño, compañía y apoyo.

La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia Católica San Jerónimo, 8825 Kempwood Dr, Houston, TX 77080, a las 11:00 AM, seguida de una velación en la Funeraria Vásquez, 1805 Huge Oaks St, Houston, TX 77055, de 4:00 PM a 9:00 PM.

El versículo bíblico elegido para honrar la memoria de María—Juan 11:25–27—fue escogido con amor por su nieta Michelle, como homenaje a la profunda fe y el gran amor que María compartió con su familia:

“Le dijo Jesús: Yo soy la resurrección y la vida; el que cree en mí, aunque esté muerto, vivirá. Y todo aquel que vive y cree en mí no morirá jamás. ¿Crees esto? Le dijo: Sí, Señor; yo he creído que tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios, que has venido al mundo.”

María será recordada como un espíritu alegre: extrovertida, entusiasta y siempre lista para una buena conversación. Ya fuera en persona, por teléfono o de cualquier manera posible, hacía que las personas se sintieran escuchadas y queridas. Su gusto por lo dulce era legendario, sus opiniones firmes, y su risa absolutamente contagiosa. Su hermosa sonrisa iluminaba cada lugar al que llegaba. María deja un legado de amor, familia y alegría que será atesorado por todos los que la conocieron.

Maria Angelica Lopez de Espinoza, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Maria was born on September 25, 1952, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, and moved to Monterrey, Nuevo León, at the age of six. On June 13, 1971, she married the love of her life, Juan Manuel Espinoza. Together, they had five children. Though one son, Felix Espinoza Lopez, passed away at just 10 months old, Maria carried his memory with her throughout her life. She lovingly dedicated herself to her family as a stay-at-home mother and wife, always offering strength, laughter, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Santana Gutierrez and Ezequiel Lopez Flores; her siblings Arturo Lopez Santana, Enedina Lopez de Rico, Victor Lopez Santana, Virginia Lopez de Uresti, and Ezequiel Lopez Santana; her youngest son, Felix Espinoza Lopez; and her grandson, Victor Espinoza.

Maria is survived by her siblings Raul Lopez Santana, Adolfo Lopez Santana, and Isabel Lopez de Cura. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Juan F. Espinoza, Norma A. Espinoza de Cantu, Gustavo A. Espinoza, and Victor M. Espinoza, along with their spouses Diana, Carlos, Laura, and Patricia. She also leaves behind her ten beloved grandchildren: Angie, Avigail, Isaac, Jackie, Leilani, Michelle, Juan, Melissa, Eric, and Carlos.

In her later years, Maria found joy and friendship in the Emerson Pines community. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the neighbors who offered her love, companionship, and support.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Dr, Houston, TX 77080, at 11:00 AM, followed by a visitation at Vasquez Funeral Home, 1805 Huge Oaks St, Houston, TX 77055, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The Bible verse chosen to honor Maria's memory—John 11:25–27—was lovingly selected by her granddaughter Michelle, a tribute to the strong faith and deep love that Maria shared with her family:

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they may die, will live. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" She said, "Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is coming into the world."

Maria will be remembered as a bright spirit—outgoing, joyful, and always ready for a good conversation. Whether in person, on the phone, or wherever she could connect, she made people feel seen and heard. Her sweet tooth was legendary, her opinions strong and clear, and her laughter utterly contagious. Her beautiful smile lit up every room she entered. Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and joy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
