Martin Valdez, lovingly known by family and friends as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on October 2, 1954, Martin lived a life rooted in hard work, love for family, and service to others. A plumber by trade, he was well known throughout his community for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether helping a neighbor, sharing stories with friends, or spending time outdoors fishing — one of his greatest passions — Martin left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Above all, Martin was a family man. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Sara Valdez, whom he married in October 1985. Together they built a strong and loving family that remained the center of his life.
Martin is survived by his eldest son from prior union Martin Valdez Jr wife Brenda Valdez, by his beloved wife Sara Valdez; his son, Jose Valdez and wife Erica Valdez, Erik Valdez, and Rolando Maya.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Mateo Martin Valdez, Marissa Ann Valdez, Martin Valdez III, Stefanie McCorvey and husband Ryan McCorvey, Michael Valdez, Makayla Valdez, Dalylia Valdez, and Alyssa Valdez
Martin was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Chase McCorvey and Audrey McCorvey, who brought him immense joy.
He is further survived by his brothers, Maria Martinez +, Manuel Valdez, Beatriz Valdez, Dora Morales+, Bernardo Valdez +, Julia Morales, Ramiro Valdez, Diamantina Valdez +. By Nuemores's nephews and nieces.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo Valdez and Julia Valdez.
Martin’s legacy of love, hard work, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on through all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
