Melva Guadalupe Solis, 71, of Houston, TX, entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2026.
Born on January 1, 1955, in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Melva was the daughter of Guadalupe Montemayor and Juan Guajardo.
Melva was deeply loved and will be remembered for her dedication to her husband and family.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Guadalupe I. Solis, with whom she shared a lifetime of love. She and her husband faithfully pastored Cochran Street Baptist Church for 17 years, beginning in 2008.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Laura Solis, mother of Joseph A. Ricarte Jr.; Sonia Cruz and son-in-law David L. Cruz, parents of Joshua, Brianna, Kaitlynn, and Marayah; Veronica Solis; and Noemi Guerrero and son-in-law Jose F. Guerrero.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her home church, Cochran Street Baptist Church, located at 3720 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas 77009. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 7:00 p.m.
A final farewell will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
