Michael David Sustaita

Michael (Tater) went to be with the Lord on 13 November 2021. Mike was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and especially a friend. Mike was born 1 March 1959 at Heights Hospital. Many close school friends called him by his nickname “Tater”. Mike was raised in “Northside” Houston and graduated from St. Pius X High School, Class of 79. Following high school, he joined the Southern Pacific Railroad like his father and grandfather. Mike retired from the railroad after 38 yrs of blocking intersections all over Houston. Mike was married to Sandra a wonderful, beautiful woman. Mike met Sandra in the 5th grade at Christ The King Elementary school. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Beatrice.   Survived by sister Beatrice, brothers Manuel and Ernest. Tater was a huge pet lover and was known to feed stray dogs/cats in the neighborhood.Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church 4918 Cochran St. Houston, TX 77009 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at 9:30am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church 4918 Cochran St. Houston, TX 77009. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023.  Reception will follow the interment at St. Patrick Church Hall. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully ask donations to be made in Mikes name at the Houston Humane Society www.houstonhumane.org. Funeral arrangements under the direction of VAZQUEZ FUNERL HOME
