Pablito "Paul" Torres Obituary

Pablito “Paul” Torres passed away peacefully in his bed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 58. He was born in Batesville, Texas, on March 26, 1966, to Esteban Rios Torres and Severa Flores Torres.

Paul is survived by his loving children, Roxanne (Christopher) Aranda, Paul Fernandez, and Ashly Torres, all of Houston, along with his granddaughters, Marisa Aranda, Sophia Aranda, Ariana Garcia, and Avery Garcia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his ex-wife, Laura Fernandez (Daniel) Medina, who remained a supportive presence throughout the years.

His siblings include Alicia (Rex) Boyce, Benita (Ralph) Garcia, and Diana Torres, all of Houston, Texas, and Gloria Torres of El Paso. His brothers, Rosendo (Alma) Torres and Raul Torres, reside in Batesville and Houston, Texas, respectively.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Esteban Rios Torres and Severa Flores Torres; his sister, Elvira Torres; and his brothers, Adolfo Torres, Alfredo Torres, Pedro Torres, Jesus Torres, and Felipe Flores Torres Sr.

Born in Batesville, Paul was raised in Houston, where he started his family. He dedicated over 35 years of his career to the Texas oil and gas industry, specializing in OCTG, drilling, and downhole equipment. His impressive expertise included work with packers, liner hangers (both hydraulic and mechanical), casing and tubing, sliding sleeves, and sub-surface safety valves. As a hands-on Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector, he performed dimensional inspections and non-destructive testing, collaborating with several notable Texas companies, including Baker Oil Tools (Baker Hughes), VAM, K&B Machine, Hunting Energy Services, Tanis-Hyril, QIC, Inc., Noble Energy, Moody International, Texas Steel Conversion, and Halliburton Energy Services.

In his free time, Paul cherished every moment spent with his family and grandchildren, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He found joy in fishing whenever he could and loved watching football, passionately cheering for his favorite teams while sharing laughter over the games. Although he occasionally visited the casino for excitement, his true passion lay in entertaining and cooking for his family. He often prepared meals for a crowd, relishing the opportunity to host gatherings where everyone could enjoy his delicious dishes around the table. Paul had a particular fondness for Whataburger and could often be found enjoying a Dr Pepper, which he considered the perfect complement to his meals. Known for his generous spirit and thoughtfulness, Paul was also a private man, keeping certain aspects of his life close to his heart. He had a tradition of planning thoughtful gifts and giving jackets during Christmas, reflecting his caring nature.

We invite family and friends to come together to celebrate Paul's life, share memories, and offer support to one another during this time.
