Pastor Pedro Cantu Garza Obituary

Pastor Pedro Cantú Garza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and shepherd,
entered into the presence of the Lord on February 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love,
and unwavering devotion to God and family.
He was born on December 30, 1963, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. From an early age, Pedro
carried a tender heart and a deep reverence for God that would one day shape the course of his life
and the lives of many others.
On July 1, 1990, Pedro arrived in Houston, Texas, with his wife and young family, two suitcases, and
a heart full of faith. He came pursuing the American dream, but the Lord had written a greater story.
What began as a step of faith into a new country became the foundation of a ministry that would
impact countless lives.
On February 27, 1991, alongside his faithful wife of 42 years, Leticia Cantú, he founded what is now
Iglesia Amor y Restauración. Through seasons of sacrifice, perseverance, and steadfast prayer,
God’s faithfulness sustained them. Pastor Pedro loved serving his congregation and the Houston
community, but his calling extended far beyond city limits. His ministry grew internationally as he
carried the message of Jesus Christ throughout the nations, preaching hope, restoration, and
salvation.

With a shepherd’s heart for people, Pastor Pedro faithfully stood with the city of Houston in times of
greatest need. He and his church served and supported the community through Hurricane Katrina,
Hurricane Harvey, and many difficult seasons in between, offering prayer, resources, and hope to all
who walked through their doors.
Above all, Pedro was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his
beloved wife, Leticia Cantú; his daughters Rocio, Perla, and Sarahi; his sons-in-law Adrian, Jaime,
and Javier; and his cherished grandchildren Ellie, Ethan, Camila, and Sofia. He is also survived by
his dear sisters, Adriana and Elena.
Pastor Pedro’s life was a testimony of obedience, courage, and unwavering trust in God. Though his
voice is now silent on earth, the seeds he planted will continue to bear fruit for generations. His

legacy lives on in every life restored, every soul encouraged, and every heart pointed toward Christ.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Psalm 116:15

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered, until we meet again in glory.

gloria.
