Patricia Adams Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Kay Emily Adams passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at the age of 64. A lifelong Texan by heart, but a Missouri girl by roots, Patty was born in W. Virginia and raised in Potosi, Missouri, where she built a lifetime of memories with her family and friends. She often affectionately referred to her hometown as “the sticks”. At 20, she made the move to East Houston, Texas, where she would go on to build a beautiful life full of love, music, laughter, and family.

Patty was nurturing, outspoken, and endlessly generous. She had a deep love for plants of all kinds—her green thumb and growing garden were legendary. Her personality was just as vibrant as her rock 'n' roll playlist, which could often be heard filling her home, the car, or even a room full of grandkids. Her love for music, especially classic rock, was only matched by the love she poured into her family.

She was a proud mother of five, constantly expressing admiration for each of her children’s unique strengths. Her grandchildren were her world, and she found deep joy in watching them grow and thrive. But if we’re honest, her beloved cat Frankie may have been her favorite of all. Frankie nurtured her in ways no one else could—offering quiet companionship, mischief, and unconditional love. They were an inseparable pair.

Patty also took great pride in her 30+ year career with the Texas Department of Transportation, where she built lasting friendships and a legacy of hard work and loyalty.

To honor Patty’s love for life and growth, the family welcomes potted plants or floral arrangements from those who wish to bring something in her memory. Plants, in particular, will be cherished and kept as living reminders of her spirit, which will continue to bloom through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Beers Emily and Benjamin Emily, as well as Aubrey Clevenger, father of her sons Aaron and Austin.

Patty is lovingly survived by her five children: - Erica Ruiz (Andy), and their children Natalie, Bria, and Ayden; and grandchildren Nevaeh, Nathan, and Noah - Sara Perkins (Andrew), and their children Laney, Scotty, and Emmy - Aaron Clevenger, and his children Dean, Kyler, and Hazel - Austin Clevenger (Annette), and their children Avery and Adam - Alexis Lange (Andrew), and their son Malakai. She also leaves behind her dear brothers Paul Boyer, Jon Boyer, and Mike Emily, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Patty shared meaningful chapters of her life with three former husbands who each remained an important part of her story. She is survived by Scott Ianaro, father of Erica and Sara, and Hunter Adams, father of Alexis. All three shared in her life with love and helped shape the beautiful family she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her bold heart, her beautiful plants, her unforgettable laugh, her rock ‘n’ roll soul—and her constant companion, Frankie, who remained faithfully by her side.

Patty carried a quiet but unwavering faith that gave her strength through life’s trials and comfort in its joys. She believed in God’s grace, and in the promise of Heaven—where love never ends and where she is now joyfully reunited with those who went before her. May she rest in Peace
