Pedro “Pete” Garcia Mendoza, age 66, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Pete was a man of great humor and hard work who always put his family first. He thoroughly enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their games and rooting for the Houston Astros. He also loved a variety of music, cracking jokes, and playing 31 with his brothers. Above all, he was happiest when he was with his wife, Olga, sharing a laugh over their inside jokes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Olga Mendoza; his daughter, Christy Williamson and her husband, Jason; his stepdaughters, Christine Arguelles and her husband, Jaime, and Jennifer Aguilar and her partner, David Cantu; and his sons, Luis Perez and Jesse Mendoza. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, his great-grandchild, and his siblings Isabel Mendoza, Juanita Mendoza, Robert Valdez, Mike Castillo, Roy Castillo and Sandra Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Castillo and Pedro Mendoza, and his grandparents, Tomas and Juanita Garcia.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, prayer at 7pm, at Vasquez Funeral Home, located at 750 Uvalde Rd, Houston, TX 77015. Though he is no longer with us, Pete's kindness, laughter, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
