Sebastian Calvo Obituary

Sebastian Calvo Cantú, lovingly known as “Dad”. Born August 5, 1945, in the city of Anahuac Nuevo Leon Mexico to the late Francisco Calvo Salinas and Bernarda Cantu de Calvo. Passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 79 on October 28, 2024. He lived a life rich with experiences, marked by both trials and triumphs. Though his journey on this earth was not without its imperfections, it was filled with opportunities, challenges, adventures, happiness, and sorrow. A devoted father and unwavering protector, Sebastian made countless sacrifices for the sake of his family, bravely leaving behind his own, working for 10 years at the muebleria Martinez in Valle Hermoso Tamaulipas Mexico, to seek a better life in the early 70’s to the United States working for over 30 years in construction until he retired in 2010. He worked tirelessly and effortlessly, often traveling to distant cities, to provide for his seven children, ensuring they always had food on the table and a roof over their heads. Raising a large family was no small feat, yet he bore that burden with grace, always managing to keep a smile on his face. His generous spirit shone brightly as he offered a helping hand to those in need, expecting nothing in return. Even in the face of profound challenges— like the heartache of the unimaginable loss of two beloved sons Francisco Javier Calvo & Luis Fernando Calvo —Sebastian found the strength to persevere, embodying resilience and love. In his later years, he faced the trials of dementia and Alzheimer’s, but on the 28th of October, the Lord has embraced him, granting him the peace and health he so richly deserved. He is now reunited with his sons and loved ones who have gone before him. As we remember Sebastian, we honor the light he brought into our lives and the guidance he continues to offer from above. We love you, Dad. Until we meet again. He is preceded in death by his parents Francisco Calvo Salinas and Bernarda Cantu de Calvo, two oldest sons Francisco Javier Calvo & Luis Fernando Calvo and his wife Norma Leticia Calvo, his great granddaughter Rebecca Reese Ramirez, and his brother Jose Guadalupe Calvo. He is survived by his wife, Jovita Calvo, his sister Rafaela (Joaquin) Calvo de Cabrera, his children, Eduardo Calvo, Narcedalia (Juan Armando) Cedillo, Sandra Luz Calvo, Ariel (Nora) Calvo, Leobardo (Roxanne) Calvo, all 25 grandchildren and 21 Greatgrandchildren and the mother of his seven children Josefina Calvo and many more countless nephews, nieces, and relatives left to honor his memory.
