Vernon L. Spencer, lovingly known as “Bo,” passed away on October 16, 2025, in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 60. Born on August 30, 1965, in Houston, Texas, He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Ann West and Clarence West Jr., and his siblings Tracy Lynch and William Spencer. Bo is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Zarate, his daughter Miranda Amara Spencer, his son Vernon L. Spencer Jr. (BJ), his sister Rhonda West Anderson and her husband Wade Anderson, his brother George Spencer and his wife Delinda Spencer, foster sister Shirley Palacious, and sister-in-law Paula Zarate Caudillo — along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him deeply.
He married his junior high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Zarate, on January 19, 1985, and together they built a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. He adored his wife, Mary Ann, and his children, Miranda Amara Spencer and Vernon L. Spencer Jr. (BJ), who were the lights of his life. He also treasured his grandpup, Harley, who never left his side. Bo lived a full and hardworking life doing exactly what he loved — trucking. Driving was more than a job for him; it was his dream come true. Bo was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. A true family man, he cherished a simple home life surrounded by the people he loved most. Bo was known for his big heart, love of Dr Pepper, and his sense of humor — always making his family laugh with his favorite joke about how “the mirror told him he was good looking.” Bo was an “indoor sports man,” always ready to cheer for his favorite teams — the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and NASCAR. His laughter, love, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
