Chappell Hill, Texas

Her parents Aurora Vela and  Manuel Martinez

Moved the family to Houston,Texas.

As a young girl, she worked in a packing company where she then met

Pete D. Cruz.

They married 8/22/53.

Followed by children

Joel, Margaret, Roger, Lucinda, Virginia.

She worked in both medical and dental field.

Upon retiring she worked part time at Foley’s Department Store.

Virginia was known for great cooking skills, never turned any one away needing a meal.

Everyone was welcomed in our home.

She was known as Mrs. C. cooking for her boys in ROTC, Football and Baseball.

Just as much as she loved feeding her children and grandchildren.

She loved her makeup, dressing up, and just looking sharp.

Mom gave her all to her grandchildren, they were her life.

Our mother lived 86 years, the last few years had been very difficult

Relating to various health conditions.

Mom’s  longevity is due in part to our sister Lucinda Martinez.

She was her 24/7 caregiver, putting her personal life aside to care for our Mom.

She lost the love of her life in 2008,  just completing 55 years of marriage.

She never remarried.

Mom was loved by many, we have heard nothing but great stories. Some even wild

But this is who she was.
